Dated July 1958, the postcard
is addressed at the studio of Dr. Arturo Brusotti (A 9). Dall'anaisi
of calligraphy is clear that Cardinal G. B. Montini's letterhead
and signed the card giving task to his secretary (Don Pasquale Manchi,
who has countersigned the card) to fill in the address (street and
city).
Archbishop Giovanni Battista Montini was ordained bishop on 12
December 1954.
As archbishop of Milan was able to raise the precarious fate of
the Lombard churches in a very difficult moment in history which
identified the economic problems of reconstruction, immigration
from the south, the spread of atheism and Marxism in the world
of work. She knew even the best economic forces involved in the
resurgence of the Church seeks dialogue and reconciliation with
all social forces and started a real Christianization of the working
groups, especially through the Christian Associations of Italian
Workers (ACLI).
